Vanessa Manago is a visionary Cultural Engineer and a pioneering force in immersive media, redefining how communities connect in the digital age.
As Founder of Block Party Omegaverse, she is at the forefront of merging the cultural heartbeat of Black and Brown communities with the limitless possibilities of the metaverse—creating spaces where stories, art, and shared experiences thrive without borders.
With nearly 20 years in broadcast, film, and digital production, Vanessa has led transformative projects across entertainment, corporate, government, and non-profit sectors. As TV Station Manager and Video Producer for two public television stations serving 175,000 homes in Southern Maryland, she modernized legacy broadcast systems into hybrid streaming platforms, ensuring communities could access content on any device. Her innovative programming model increased community engagement by elevating local voices and expanding cultural representation.
A transformational and innovative thought leader, Vanessa built VMI Entertainment into a creative powerhouse in the private sector, designing studios, producing award-winning video content, and engineering multi-camera, mobile streaming systems years before hybrid events became the norm. At the Defense Acquisition University, she earned multiple Corporate Awards for delivering high-impact, story-driven productions that turned routine events into immersive experiences — a skill she now applies to the gaming and metaverse space.
Her approach blends technical mastery — from 4K/6K cinematography to streaming architecture — with cultural insight, rooted in her mission to regenerate community connection through storytelling.
With a Master’s in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University and a BFA in Digital Film from The Art Institute of Washington, Vanessa’s expertise spans content creation, brand storytelling, gamification, and audience engagement strategies.
Vanessa’s work positions her as not just an early adopter but a trailblazer in community-driven virtual worlds, proving that the same love that once flowed from stoop to street can now stream directly into the palm of your hand — live on your phone or inside your virtual world.
