“Full Circle: The Tiffany Barber Story”
This short film was prepared for the Annual Conference of the College of Southern Maryland’s Nonprofit Institute. Having spoken with the institute’s leadership, I understood that they wanted to celebrate the work of nonprofit leaders throughout the Southern Maryland region. As this was one of the first in-person events following the pandemic, they focused their attention on ways to reconnect these leaders in a time when social distancing was still a concern.
Understanding their priorities, I asked if there was a story that they would like to share.
The Director of NPI forwarded me an autobiographical narrative of Tiffany Barber. Although it was written as a narrative story, I speak with Tiffany directly and adapted her story for a visual story. The story is rich. It celebrates themes of resilience, determination, giving back, and family. The audience was moved from tears to cheers as they watched this powerful story unfold.
